Test Performed
Conduct three successive tests to measure the average peak load in pounds of Bumperite Waterguard Sealable Scaffold Ties. Measure safety factor by dividing average peak load by four (4).

2. Water Intrusion – Smith-Emery Laboratories, Los Angeles, California
Test Performed
ASTM E331 -00: Standard test method for water penetration of exterior windows, skylights, doors, and curtain walls by uniform static air pressure difference. Sprayed with continuous water for 15 minutes with 15 lbs of negative pressure.
48 hour test with 2″ of water. No leaks.

Test Performed
Conduct three successive tests to measure the average peak load in pounds of competitors’ scaffold ties. Measure safety factor by dividing average peak load by four (4).
Results
1. Red Head tie wire high-v-eye pin 3/16″shank x 1-1/2″
Test #1: 647 lbs.
Test #2: 718 lbs.
Test #3: 673 lbs.
Total: 2,038 lbs
Average Peak Load: 2,038 lbs divided by 3 = 679 lbs.
Safety Factor: 679 lbs. divided by safety factor of (4) = 170 lbs.
2.Tomarco AB90 Fastener clip with 1/4″ X 1-1/2″ wedge anchor
Test #1: 875 lbs.
Test #2: 914 lbs.
Test #3: 942 lbs.
Total: 2,731 lbs
Average Peak Load: 2,731 lbs divided by 3 = 910 lbs.
Safety Factor: 901 lbs. divided by safety factor of (4) = 228 lbs.
3. Kwik-Bolt Tie wire wedge Anchor 1/4″x 1-1/2″ embedment
Test #1: 709 lbs.
Test #2: 672 lbs.
Test #3: 733 lbs.
Total: 2,114 lbs
Average Peak Load: 2,114 lbs divided by 3 = 704 lbs.
Safety Factor: 704 lbs. divided by safety factor of (4) = 176 lbs.
4. Tie wire split wedge Anchor 1/4″ x 1″ embedment
Test #1: 644 lbs.
Test #2: 769 lbs.
Test #3: 876 lbs.
Total: 2,289 lbs
Average Peak Load: 2,289 lbs divided by 3 = 763 lbs.
Safety Factor: 763 lbs. divided by safety factor of (4) = 191 lbs.
